rectangular cut and step cut. It's also
important to note that the clearer an emerald
is, the higher the value it will be. Cloudy colored
emerald are considered to be of low value.

to ask the jeweler about the extent of
the treatment of the emerald ring.
The more treatment an emerald received,
the lower the quality. Treatments are usually
applied to the stone to fill up the cracks. Sometimes
you may come across a synthetic emerald, i.e.
man made emerald which are usually created
in the lab. There is nothing bad about it
except that your jeweler should be honest about
it and disclose about it.

Natural emeralds are always more valueable
so be sure you're paying the right price.

be sure to have it appraised by an independent
organization to make sure of the stone's real worth.
